Rocksteady - South East Wedding Band

ROCKSTEADY are an 8-piece funk/disco band available for weddings, private parties and corporate functions. We are a totally self-sufficient act and can provide a full entertainment package including PA system, lighting and music for before/after our set.

All members of Rocksteady are professional & talented musicians, who between them have an amazing array of experience in the music industry. From initial planning to the actual day, ROCKSTEADY will take care of all aspects of the music for your event and leave you free to enjoy a great night of live entertainment.

Lucy Atkinson - Vocals

If James Brown had an illicit love child with Aretha Franklin, and that child drank a bottle of whisky a day, Lucys voice would still sound cooler. Born in Santa Monica, California to Trinidadian parents (one of whom was a member of The Zombies - a British invasion band with a string on No.1 hits), Lucy has already played venues around the world, undertaken radio sessions, and performs regularly throughout the UK.

Sam Wilson - Drums

Living in Brighton with a hot Argentinean lawyer, Sam is a pro-drummer who plays drums more often than he wears shoes. Having performed with artists such as Chad Smith from the Chili Peppers, and Alexander O Neil at The Hammersmith Apollo, Sam is an awesome drummer who performs with energy and soul every time.

Peter Pelluet - Percussion

Born and residing in South London, Pete has played drums and congas for over 20 years in venues such as The Natural History Museum and The Jazz Cafe, so it's fair to say he's not a bad player! His influences range form Stevie Wonder to The Police, and he cuts a fine image on stage behind his rasberry coloured congas. Pete is a long-standing member of Rocksteady, and used to have dreadlocks apparently.

Paul Rodrigues - Bass

A financial wizard by day, but a soulful sorcerer by night, Paul is a wonderful bass player who enjoys nothing more than laying down a bassline to which people cannot help but dance. He drives a Jaguar, but don't hold that against him

Al Rodrigues - Guitar

Fresh from the valleys of Wales (although originally from London), Al doesn't think twice about driving to a different country to play guitar. His knowledge of his instrument is phenomenal and regularly receives raptuous applause for his wonderfully musical solos, and his unflappable demenour on stage. And yes, he is related to Paul.

Matt Phillips - Keys

A tour de force on the keyboards and a true Casanova with the ladies, Matt is renowned for his blistering solos, and ability to sound as if he's playing with five arms. he's has been playing keyboards since the time they were invented, and is always the consummate professional on stage.

Paul Moutarde - Saxophone

Paul, (or Mooey for short) is another fine example of tremendous brass playing. Packed full of energy and a love of all things female, Pauls' playing is spot on, and his Saxophone solos are only surpassed by his unbelievably smooth stage presence.

Toby Simmons - Trumpet

A musical teacher by day, Toby is a pro trumpet player having performed in venues ranging from the Albert Hall to Buckingham Palace. His Taylor trumpet is always kept close by his side, and his solos are reminiscent of Lee Morgan and Wynton Marsalis (or for the non-trumpet playing world...he's good.) Toby recently sported a mullet hairdo out of choice which is beautiful and rare thing in this world.
